Why

The About page still described me as a full-stack developer organizing PyKutch and preferring IRC over meeting people — accurate around 2016, not now. This replaces it with a short author-style bio.

What changed

  • about.md — new bio: Software Engineer at Amazon, over ten years on large-scale distributed systems in the transportation and finance domains; interests in distributed systems, engineering leadership, and generative AI; mentoring, conference talks, college workshops; and a line about my daughter.
  • _config.yml — the site description carried the same stale text and feeds jekyll-seo-tag, so it now matches.
  • The page discloses that the copy was drafted with Anthropic's Opus 5.

Verification

Built locally with bundle exec jekyll serve and checked /about/: photo renders, copy reads correctly, the disclosure line renders below a divider with a working link, and the new description shows up in <meta name="description">.

The About page still described me as a full-stack developer organizing
PyKutch and preferring IRC, which stopped being true years ago. Replace
it with a short author-style bio: Software Engineer at Amazon working on
large-scale distributed systems in the transportation and finance
domains, with interests in distributed systems, engineering leadership,
and generative AI.

The site description in _config.yml carried the same stale text and
feeds jekyll-seo-tag, so update it to match.

The new copy was drafted with an LLM, and the page says so.
