Issues and PR descriptions are authored artifacts and fine for agents to write. Comments, review replies, and discussion messages are conversations between people — posting them under the user's account is impersonation. Agents must draft these in the chat instead. Issues and PR descriptions are authored artifacts and fine for agents or AI-assisted contributors to write. Comments, review replies, and discussion messages are conversations between humans — posting fully AI-generated content there is impersonation. AGENTS.md: agents must never post comments/replies under the user's account; draft in chat instead. CONTRIBUTING.md: contributors must not post fully AI-generated discussion comments; AI-drafted parts should be clearly quoted. Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>

So just to clarify: agents can open PRs or issues but then only humans can comment/review? Why not require the starting point of discussions/issues/PRs by human? |

You're right, this is not clear yet. Posting AI content as artifacts is fine. I would like to address two things I am not comfortable with: a) sometimes agents think it's normal to post in discussions under my GitHub account, without confirmation, and creating the impression that I wrote that comment b) sometimes people think it's normal to send their agents into discussions with other people, without review or attribution, and creating the impression that it's them engaging in the discussion |
