Summary

  • AGENTS.md: agents must never post comments, review replies, or discussion messages on GitHub under the user's account — draft them in the chat instead. Creating issues and PR descriptions remains allowed.
  • CONTRIBUTING.md: fully AI-generated comments and responses in issue threads, PR reviews, and GitHub Discussions are not acceptable. AI-drafted parts should be clearly quoted so reviewers can distinguish human reasoning from machine output.

Test plan

Documentation-only change — no code, no tests affected.

Issues and PR descriptions are authored artifacts and fine for agents to
write. Comments, review replies, and discussion messages are
conversations between people — posting them under the user's account is
impersonation. Agents must draft these in the chat instead.

So just to clarify: agents can open PRs or issues but then only humans can comment/review? Why not require the starting point of discussions/issues/PRs by human?

You're right, this is not clear yet.

Posting AI content as artifacts is fine. I would like to address two things I am not comfortable with:

a) sometimes agents think it's normal to post in discussions under my GitHub account, without confirmation, and creating the impression that I wrote that comment

b) sometimes people think it's normal to send their agents into discussions with other people, without review or attribution, and creating the impression that it's them engaging in the discussion
