I re-ran CI to rule out a flake; it failed identically, confirming it's deterministic (not staleness — so @dependabot recreate, which I tried before diagnosing, doesn't help here).

Needs a human decision: drop Java 14 from the bolt-http4k build matrix, or hold http4k at 5.x if Java 14 support must stay. (build (17) passes, so the floor may land at 17.) Flagging, not forcing — a JDK-support-matrix call.
