Microgrid Components Release – R2025b
Microgrid Components Update
This release updates the Microgrid Components with new harness models, improved controller support, standardized parameter scripts, and a new hybrid microgrid template model. The goal of this update is to simplify subsystem testing, improve model fidelity, and enhance the overall microgrid workflow using Simscape.
New Features
Component Harnesses
Added dedicated test harnesses for BESS, Generator, Solar Plant, Wind Plant, Planned Islanding, Resynchronization, and Black Start. Each harness includes standardized signal routing, diagnostic checks, and example scenarios for quick verification.
Component Library Updates
Added custom Simscape components for converter, solar plant, and wind farm. Updated component icons and reorganized the library structure for easier browsing in Simulink.
Standardized Parameter Scripts
Introduced parameter scripts for BESS, Solar Plant, Wind Farm, Generator, Planned Islanding, Resynchronization, and Black Start. All scripts generate structured parameters to ensure consistent setup across models and controllers.
Documentation Updates
Expanded and improved HTML overview pages for BESS, Solar Plant, Wind Farm, Generator, GFL and GFM controllers, Planned Islanding, Resynchronization, and Microgrid Control. Updated explanations, diagrams, and workflow guidance to improve model understanding.
Hybrid Microgrid Template Model
Added a complete hybrid microgrid template model that combines renewable sources, diesel generator, and BESS. This serves as a starting point for building and customizing microgrid architectures.
