I'm CEO and Chief Engineer at Dynamical Systems Group. I work at the intersection of applied control theory, operations research, open-source scientific computing, and model-based systems engineering — with engagements across civil and commercial aerospace, public-sector R&D, and open-source infrastructure for science and engineering.
The through-line across my research and practice: simple local algorithms with provable relationships to desirable global properties, using the weakest possible assumptions about agent behavior. The mathematics is the same whether the agents are robots, markets, or institutions — and at the institutional scale the work has the most leverage.
Systems Engineering PhD (University of Pennsylvania) in optimization and control of decentralized systems. Adjunct teaching at various institutions including UPenn and CMU. INCOSE and NumFOCUS communities.
