When a user closes or navigates away from a tab while the service worker
is registering, Chrome throws an AbortError ("The Service Worker system
has shutdown."). This is expected browser lifecycle behavior — not a bug
in Sentry's code — and capturing it produces noise with no actionable
signal.
Filter AbortErrors before calling Sentry.captureException in both the
registration and update-check paths.

Problem
serviceWorkerContext.tsxcallsSentry.captureException(error)for all errors fromnavigator.serviceWorker.register()and the periodic.update()call. When a user closes or navigates away from a tab while registration is in progress, Chrome throws:This is normal browser lifecycle behavior (
DOMException.code: 20), not a bug in Sentry's code. Capturing it creates low-value noise — it's alreadyhandled: yesand has no user impact (the app works fine without the SW).Fix

Legal Boilerplate
Look, I get it. The entity doing business as "Sentry" was incorporated in the State of Delaware in 2015 as Functional Software, Inc. and is gonna need some rights from me in order to utilize my contributions in this here PR. So here's the deal: I retain all rights, title and interest in and to my contributions, and by keeping this boilerplate intact I confirm that Sentry can use, modify, copy, and redistribute my contributions, under Sentry's choice of terms.
