CodeIsland sits at the top of your screen. It provides a status display for your AI coding tools. You see exactly what your computer does without switching windows. It replaces guesswork with clear status updates. You track tasks, permissions, and tool calls in one spot.
Follow these steps to install the software on your Windows computer.
- Go to the official release page.
- Look for the Assets section at the bottom of the latest release.
- Select the file ending in
.exe. - Click the file to start the download.
- Save the file to your desktop or downloads folder.
- Double-click the file to begin the installation.
- Follow the prompts on your screen to finish the setup process.
The application runs quietly in the background. You access settings by clicking the icon in your system tray. The system tray is the group of small icons near your clock. Right-click the small CodeIsland logo to open the menu.
You can change these options:
- Startup: Choose if the app starts when you log in.
- Theme: Pick between light and dark modes to match your display.
- Opacity: Adjust how transparent the panel looks on your screen.
- Updates: Set the app to check for new versions automatically.
CodeIsland connects to your existing software. It works with common AI engines. You do not need to move your files or change your code. The app detects these tools automatically:

The panel shows icons and text. Each part has a meaning.
- Color Coded Bars: These show if the AI is active, idle, or needs your input. Green means working. Yellow means waiting for your choice. Red means a connection error.
- Process List: A scrollable list shows the active AI agents.
- Permission Requests: Blue notifications pop up when an agent wants access to a file. You can allow or deny these from the panel.
This software works on all modern Windows systems.
- Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- Memory: 2GB of free RAM is enough for smooth performance.
- Storage: 100MB of disk space for installation.
- Permissions: You need administrator rights to install the application.
Use these steps if the app does not show your AI tools.
- Restart the application: Close the app from the system tray and open it again.
- Check tool paths: Make sure your coding tools are running before you start CodeIsland.
- Update your tools: Older versions of coding apps might not send the right status signals. Check for updates for your specific editor.
