Cherry-picks evan-buss#182 by @sardonyx001: go get -> go mod tidy in dev install steps, plus minor whitespace cleanup (trailing space, redundant blank lines, code fence syntax). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Hi! Thanks for the awesome project.
I was trying to setup a dev environment but
go getdoesn't do anything.I think the appropriate command to install dependencies here is
go mod tidy. This pr fixes that. (+ some .md formatting that i noticed after opening this pr haha)
Sorry this might be a nitpick but it eases the barrier to entry..
I really would like to contribute to some open issues and todo items in this project (if that is okay with you) like responsiveness and other still open issues.
If you are not too busy can I reach out to you on a roadmap maybe or I can just keep opening PRs!
Thanks in advance!
