Shelly Energy Monitor ist eine einfache App zur Auswertung deines Shelly Pro 3EM Energiezählers. Sie zeigt Verbrauch und Einspeisung deiner Solaranlage übersichtlich als Monats- und Jahresdiagramme an und vergleicht deinen aktuellen Stromtarif mit einem alternativen Tarif.
Die App läuft auf Windows, Linux und Android – ohne Cloud, ohne Abo, ohne Internetverbindung. Alle Daten bleiben lokal auf deinem Gerät.
Der Shelly Pro 3EM erfasst den Stromverbrauch minutengenau – speichert die Rohdaten aber nur für die letzten 60 Tage intern. Diese App liest die Daten aus und überführt sie in eine lokale Datenbank auf deinem Gerät.
Wer die App regelmäßig alle 60 Tage startet und synchronisiert, baut sich so eine lückenlose Langzeitstatistik auf. Wird länger nicht ausgelesen, gehen die ältesten Messwerte im Gerät unwiderruflich verloren – es entstehen echte Lücken. Die erfassten Werte bleiben dabei aber immer exakt: Verbrauch und Kosten werden nie geschätzt oder interpoliert, sondern ausschließlich aus tatsächlich vorhandenen Messdaten berechnet. Eine lückenhafte Statistik ist also unvollständiger, aber nie ungenauer.
Zusätzlich ermöglichen die eigenen realen Verbrauchsdaten einen ehrlichen Tarifvergleich: Die App zeigt direkt, ob sich ein alternativer Stromtarif auf Basis des tatsächlichen Verbrauchs gelohnt hätte.
Der Shelly Pro 3EM kann optional mit der Shelly Cloud verbunden werden — das ist aber freiwillig und bedeutet, dass deine Messdaten an die Server von Shelly übertragen werden. Diese App benötigt das nicht: Sie kommuniziert ausschließlich lokal im Heimnetz, deine Daten verlassen das Gerät nie.
Die Shelly Cloud bietet zwar Verbrauchsstatistiken und Kostenanzeige für einen konfigurierten Tarif, ist aber in mehreren Punkten eingeschränkt: Die Daten reichen nur so weit zurück wie der Shelly sie intern gespeichert hat (60 Tage). Ein Tarifvergleich ist seit 2025 in Pilotform verfügbar, aber nur über eine Partnerschaft mit Verivox und nur für bestimmte Länder — ein freier Vergleich mit einem beliebigen Alternativtarif ist nicht möglich.
Diese App bietet darüber hinaus:
- Unbegrenzte Langzeitstatistik, solange regelmäßig synchronisiert wird
- Freier Vergleich mit jedem beliebigen Alternativtarif
- Vollständig offline, keine Datenweitergabe
- Eine lokale SQLite-Datenbank, die künftig weitere Auswertungen ermöglicht — z.B. Jahresvergleiche, Saisonalität oder CSV-Export
- Ein Shelly Pro 3EM im Heimnetz
- Wichtig: Das Gerät (PC, Laptop oder Handy), auf dem die App läuft, muss sich im selben Netzwerk (WLAN oder LAN) befinden wie der Shelly-Zähler. Eine Verbindung über ein fremdes Netz oder VPN funktioniert in der Regel nicht.

Für die manuelle Ausführung direkt aus dem Quellcode:

- Entweder die IP-Adresse deines Shelly Pro 3EM eingeben und mit Enter bestätigen, oder auf Search Shelly klicken – die App sucht dann automatisch im Netzwerk
- Sobald der Shelly gefunden wurde, auf Sync data klicken, um die Messdaten zu laden
- Die Diagramme werden automatisch befüllt

Shelly Energy Monitor is a straightforward app for analysing your Shelly Pro 3EM energy meter. It displays consumption and feed-in data from your solar installation as monthly and yearly bar charts, and compares your current electricity tariff against an alternative one.
The app runs on Windows, Linux and Android – no cloud, no subscription, no internet connection required. All data stays locally on your device.
The Shelly Pro 3EM measures electricity consumption to the minute – but stores raw data internally for only the last 60 days. This app reads that data and transfers it into a local database on your device.
By launching and syncing the app regularly every 60 days, you build up a complete long-term record. If you wait longer, the oldest measurements are permanently lost from the device and real gaps appear in your statistics. However, the recorded values are always exact: consumption and costs are never estimated or interpolated, but calculated solely from actually available measurements. A statistics with gaps is therefore less complete, but never less accurate.
Your own real consumption data also enables an honest tariff comparison: the app shows directly whether an alternative electricity tariff would have been worth it based on your actual usage.
The Shelly Pro 3EM can optionally be connected to the Shelly Cloud — but this is voluntary and means your measurement data is transmitted to Shelly's servers. This app does not require that: it communicates exclusively within your local network and your data never leaves your device.
The Shelly Cloud does offer consumption statistics and cost display for a single configured tariff, but is limited in several ways: data only goes back as far as the Shelly has stored it internally (60 days). A tariff comparison feature was introduced in 2025 as a pilot, but only through a partnership with Verivox and only for certain countries — a free comparison with any alternative tariff of your choice is not possible.
This app additionally offers:
- Unlimited long-term statistics, as long as you sync regularly

- Fully offline, no data sharing
- A local SQLite database that allows further analysis in the future — such as year-on-year comparisons, seasonality, or CSV export

- Important: The device running this app (PC, laptop or phone) must be connected to the same network (Wi-Fi or LAN) as the Shelly meter. Connections via a separate network or VPN will generally not work.
