Logistics buildings that work with Smart!'s auto-connect features:
Distributors (with belt auto-connect):
- Splitters — All tiers (Mk.1–Mk.6)
- Mergers — All tiers (Mk.1–Mk.6)
- Smart Splitters — Programmable routing
- Programmable Splitters — Advanced routing
Pipeline Junctions (with pipe auto-connect):
- Pipeline Junctions — Fluid distribution points
Stackable Supports (with auto-connect):
- Stackable Conveyor Poles — Long-distance belt runs
- Stackable Pipeline Supports — Long-distance pipe runs
Other Logistics:
- Hypertube Junctions — Hypertube intersections
Use cases: Manifold layouts, bus systems, fluid distribution networks
Note: When scaling distributors, junctions, or stackable poles, Smart! automatically creates belt, pipe, or support connections. See Auto-Connect for details.
Buildings for vehicle and drone logistics:
- Truck Stations — Truck loading/unloading
- Drone Ports — Drone charging and storage
- Drone Stations — Drone loading/unloading
- Train Stations — Freight and passenger
- Freight Platforms — Train cargo handling
Use cases: Logistics hubs, multi-station arrays
Unique progression and utility buildings:
- AWESOME Shop — Milestone unlocks
- AWESOME Sink — Item disposal
- MAM (Molecular Analysis Machine) — Research
- Space Elevator — Project assembly
- HUB — Main base building
Use cases: Base layouts, progression building clusters
These building types are not supported due to their placement mechanics, not technical limitations. Smart! cannot scale them because they require multi-step placement, click-and-drag interaction, or special snapping rules.
Buildings that use click-and-drag spline placement:
- Conveyor Belts — Click-and-drag spline
- Conveyor Lifts — Click-and-drag spline
- Pipelines — Click-and-drag spline
- Pipeline Pumps — Inline spline placement
- Power Lines (Wires) — Click-and-drag spline
- Hypertubes — Click-and-drag spline
Why not supported: These require two-click placement (start point + end point) with automatic spline routing. Smart! cannot replicate this multi-step interaction.
Buildings that must snap to resource nodes:
- Miners — All tiers (Mk.1, Mk.2, Mk.3)
- Oil Extractors — Oil node extraction
- Water Extractors — Water node extraction
- Fracking Extractors — Fracking node extraction
- Fracking Smashers — Resource well extraction
Why not supported: These buildings require precise alignment with resource nodes in the world. Smart! cannot determine valid node positions for grid placement.
Buildings that mount to existing surfaces:
- Wall-Mounted Lights — Ceiling lights, wall lights
- Wall Outlets — Power distribution (single and double)
- Conveyor Wall Holes — Belt pass-through
- Pipe Wall Holes — Pipe pass-through
- Ladders — Click-and-drag wall mounting
Why not supported: These require an existing wall or ceiling surface to attach to. Smart! cannot determine valid mounting surfaces during grid placement.
Buildings that require a foundation base:
- Roofs — All types (require foundation snapping)
- Pillars — Structural supports (foundation-dependent)
- Corner Walls — Foundation-dependent placement
Why not supported: These buildings use special snapping logic that requires an existing foundation grid. Smart! cannot replicate this dependency during hologram placement.
Buildings with multi-step click-and-drag placement:
- Beams — All types (click-and-drag length adjustment)
- Ladders — Click-and-drag height adjustment
Why not supported: These require click-and-drag interaction to set length or height. Smart! uses single-click placement.
Buildings that must snap to railroad tracks:
- Locomotives — Train engines
- Freight Cars — Train cargo cars
- Railroad Signals — Track signaling
- Block Signals — Track block control
- Railroad End Stops — Track terminators
Why not supported: These require existing railroad tracks for placement. Smart! cannot determine valid track positions.
Spawned entities, not placed buildings:
- Trucks, Tractors, Explorers — Ground vehicles
- Factory Carts — Rail vehicles
Why not supported: Vehicles are spawned from stations, not placed as buildings.
Buildings with multi-step height or trajectory adjustment:
- Jump Pads — Adjustable launch trajectory
- U-Jelly Landing Pads — Height-adjustable landing
Why not supported: These require multi-step placement with height/trajectory adjustment. Smart! uses single-click placement.
Buildings with special placement rules:
- Radar Towers — Unique placement restrictions
- Some FICSMAS Decorations — Event-specific placement
Why not supported: These have unique placement logic that Smart! cannot replicate.
Devices embedded in splines:
- Conveyor Belt Monitors — Inline belt monitoring
- Pipeline Flow Indicators — Inline pipe monitoring
- Pipeline Valves — Inline flow control
Why not supported: These are placed inline on existing belts/pipes, not as standalone buildings.
Most standalone signs have ground placement issues:
- Standalone Signs — Ground placement conflicts with grid scaling
- Billboards — Large sign structures
- Pole Signs — Mounted signs
Why not supported: Most signs use ground-snapping placement that conflicts with Smart!'s grid positioning. Some signs may work but are not officially supported.
When scaling certain logistics buildings, Smart! automatically creates connections:
- Splitters/Mergers → Auto-connect belts to nearby production buildings and other distributors
- Pipeline Junctions → Auto-connect pipes to refineries, packagers, and other junctions
- Power Poles → Auto-connect power cables to nearby buildings and form intelligent power grids
- Stackable Conveyor Poles → Auto-connect belts between poles for long-distance bus layouts
- Stackable Pipeline Supports → Auto-connect pipes between supports for fluid transport
See Auto-Connect for complete details on automatic connection features.
