When reviewing the indicator, I have a few comments.
I would suggest to focus only on the access logs as an indicator, not necessarily the relationship with OS. As with all indicators, we rarely try to provide an effect of one OS aspect on impact, but instead, we simply provide a relevant indicator of impact. After all, although you focused on the effect of Open Access on usage in your case, other effects, such as of Citizen Science or Code Availability, could also be studies using access logs. So, you can remove most of the details around open access (for which we already provide information in the indicator on Open Access anyway).
For that reason, I suggest labelling the indicator something like "Internet Access Logs", or something similar. Let me know what you prefer.
In a similar vein, some of the text explaining the relationship to the French PathOS case study can be removed all together. The handbook is meant to be something that can be used generally, and does not necessarily need to provide the details of the French case study. Perhaps you can refer to the case study somehow instead, as an example of where this indicator has been applied?
