Ansible collection for managing Ethernet switches deployed onboard high-speed and regional trains in the railway industry. This collection offers a set of modules, plugins, and roles to automate the configuration, monitoring, and lifecycle management of switches used in rail transport across the participants.
This collection supportes Switches from various vendors (Hirschmann, Lantech, Kontron, Normad).
This project has been initiated during the Hack4Rail 2025, a joint hackathon organised by the railway companies SBB, ÖBB, and DB in partnership with the OpenRail Association.
Right now, only manual installation or "copying" is possible. In the future, we might be able to provide this through ansible-galaxy.
