Code Examples for Improvements

Type Guards Implementation

  return node.kind === IRNodeKind.ClassDeclaration;
}

  return node.nodeType === "Expression";
}

Branded Types Example

// src/codegen/types.ts
export type CppCode = string & { readonly __brand: "CppCode" };
export type TypeScriptCode = string & { readonly __brand: "TypeScriptCode" };

export function toCppCode(code: string): CppCode {
  return code as CppCode;
}

JSR.io Publishing Learnings

Current Limitations

  • Blocked by SWC dependency: SWC only available via deno.land/x, not JSR
  • npm:@swc/core incompatible: Requires Node.js native bindings
  • npm:@swc/wasm-typescript insufficient: Only transforms, no AST access

Solutions for JSR Publishing

  1. Option 1: Migrate to TypeScript Compiler API (recommended)

    • Direct npm:typescript import works with JSR
    • Full type information and semantic analysis
    • Industry standard parser
  2. Option 2: Create pure TypeScript parser

    • JSR-compatible but significant effort
    • Would lack type checking capabilities
  3. Option 3: Vendor SWC WASM build

    • Bundle WASM with package
    • Increases package size significantly
