changing the agent mode keybinding from ⌘⏎ for long-running commands (e.g. `claude`)

Describe the bug

TLDR - please let me remove the keybinding ⌘⏎ for warp agent input mode when I am in claude code.

A lot of the applications that I use for agent orchestration or AI have started using Command+Return instead of Return to submit input. I've become accustomed to hitting Command+Return instead of Return every time I want to submit a prompt or something.

It was disrupting to my workflow when Warp set the ⌘⏎ key combination to put me into agent input mode several times a day when I'm in Claude Code. Inside of Warp when I try to hit ⌘⏎, it puts me into agent mode. I'm so used to sending my prompt and then moving to another window that many times I come back to check in and realize that the prompt was never sent .

I've tried going into settings and changing the keyboard shortcuts, removing the agent-related commands from ⌘⏎ and assigning them to other things like Option+Return. I've even tried restarting Warp, and yet still when I'm in Claude Code and I hit ⌘⏎, it puts me into agent mode

Is there some other setting somewhere that detects when I'm in Claude Code and does something different that I can change?

To reproduce

1. Change your key bindings for agent mode to remove the ⌘⏎ combination and change it to something else.
2. Restart warp.
3. Open Claude Code.
4. Enter the ⌘⏎ key sequence.
5. Notice that it puts you into agent mode.

Expected behavior

When a user changes their key bindings and settings, that key binding should no longer be active even when they're inside of Claude Code

Thanks for submitting, I was able to reproduce this issue with the CMD-ENTER key still triggering agent mode, even when you remove/change that keybind in the Settings, in long-running commands like claude. I'll let the team know about this.

Changing this to a feature request to allow you to change the agent mode shortcut for long-running commands.

Thank you Danny for taking a look at this and triaging it. I really appreciate it.

I just have to say I really really like working in Warp. I don't think I've really taken advantage of the agent features, but I like using it certainly as a terminal and I do have a paid plan for it right now.

I really hope you guys fix this. Even if you just hard-coded a change to something other than CMD+ENTER, that would fix this. It seems like, especially with these long-running commands being agentic interfaces in a TUI, so many different systems are moving towards either defaulting to or moving towards CMD-ENTER assubmit and just ENTER as a new line. Hijacking that specific key sequence is a real pain for me. I've just developed so much muscle memory that Command+Return is submit in CC and this totally trips me up every time I try using CC in warp

also @dannyneira are there any known workarounds for this at all. Even if it means shutting agent mode off and only turning it back on when I need it.. If that would remove this behavior when I'm using claude code I'd take it. Pls let me know

Nevermind, I was able to toggle off all "AI" in warp in settings and that let me use ⌘⏎ again.

Good to know you found a workaround. I'll still keep this open as it appears to be a blocker when AI is enabled.
