			<p>The film, a remake of Muni 2: Kanchana, was announced in the second half of January 2019 by the director of its original version i.e. Raghava Lawrence with Akshay Kumar in lead role.[7] Principal photography began on 22 April 2019 with the shoot of song "Bismillah". In January 2020, the starcast filmed song "Burj Khalifa" in Dubai. The filming was wrapped up on 1 March 2020.</p>
			<p>Laxmmi Bomb was scheduled to be released on 22 May 2020,[10] but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 29 June 2020, Disney+ Hotstar conducted virtual press conference where Akshay Kumar announced that the film will release on Disney+ Hotstar exclusively as part of Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex initiative which was a result of theatre shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic.[12] However, it was later decided to release the film in countries where theatres re-opened such as United Arab Emirates, Australia and New Zealand.[13] The official trailer was launched by Disney+Hotstar om 9 October 2020. It was also announced that the film will be released globally on 9 November, near to Diwali.</p>
