Today I noticed that my installation has this error.
What could it be?

Seems that starting from PHP 8.1 passing null as a parameter to a lot of core functions is deprecated.

Suggested fix is the use of the coalescing operator, so
htmlspecialchars($something)
must be substituted with
htmlspecialchars($something ?? '')

You could add a new function in share/code/tce_functions_general.php

function F_htmlspecialchars(?string $s, int $flags = ENT_QUOTES | ENT_SUBSTITUTE, ?string $encoding = 'UTF-8', bool $double_encode = true): string 
{
    return htmlspecialchars($s ?? '', $flags, $encoding, $double_encode);
}

and than replace all htmlspecialchars calls with F_htmlspecialchars
