Spinning wheel on start

The application starts, creates a window, and stalls forever.

Could you try to run the app from the terminal and post the stderr:

"/Applications/Path of Building.app/Contents/MacOS/Path of Building"

It will output some launch logs, maybe the last log lines could help to narrow down where it hangs.

Also helpful: While the app stalls, in another terminal tab please execute:

PID=$(pgrep -f "Path of Building")
sample "$PID" 5 -file /tmp/pob.sample

The resulting pob.sample (please attach) in /tmp could tell us where it stalls.

Also: What Mac are you using to run this app? E.g. MacBook M2?

Thanks for the details, very insightful.

I just released mac-v0.1.1 for you to try.

Good news: The infinite loading should be fixed now.
Bad news: The underlying problem is still not fixed, but you should be able to see the error now in a popup in PoB.

Can you tell me what pop ups when you launch the new PoB mac-v0.1.1?

Btw: Do you remember if PoB launched successfully the first time? Did you see an "Update Available" prompt and click it? Asking because the built-in auto-updater might have broken something for the subsequent launch.

From the first time I opened it, it never worked.
Just in case, I removed the app and all the dependent files and reinstalled it.
I have never seen "update available" or any other error message before the following one (now, in this new version).

I updated the version, and I got the "pop-up error"
(Sorry, I was too busy to test more)

Good news @motenay. Thanks to your help, I managed to track down the issue. The fix landed in the new version mac-v0.1.2. Download and execute the dmg, overwrite the app in your /Applications folder and you should be good to go.
