To prevent you from this misstake:

I recently built a UART extension cable for my Bluetooth dongle – about 2 m long, no shielding. Now the UART is dead. I have no idea why!
I only wired GND and RX/TX. But dead. All the pins seem to be "floating ground." Completely powering it off didn’t help either…The Dongel is working in another Daly
