Even though there's F-Droid, there is a delay between when the latest Android app version is released on GitHub and when F-Droid releases the update (due to F-Droid's build time).
Accrescent would release any SimpleLogin updates as soon as the update is ready on GitHub, which could mean be an even faster release channel for SimpleLogin on Android than even the Google Play Store. This is because Accrescent instantly updates apps when updates are detected (by default every 4 hours).
