Description

I have seen high frequency noise (10k-20k) in some pedal captures lately. Even though the capture has a low ESR a strange high frequency noise can be heard. In one case it was a low output capture so it's possible that the preamp noise was trained but still seems a bit strange then that the ESR was low.

I'm not too sure what the real cause is, it could be a NAM issue, a Tone3000 issue or just the user having the wrong settings. In any case it could be useful to find out what the issue is so it can be avoided in the future.

To reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Get https://www.tone3000.com/tones/the-klone-75949 and load 1_KlonClone_G0_T5_O2
  2. Enable calibration and Calibrated output
  3. Add another high gain type model after the pedal
  4. Play a note and let it decay, you should be able to hear a high frequency noise (can also play softly using the left hand on the neck to barely play the strings)
  5. Change to 2_KlonClone_G0_T5_O5, high frequency noise should be gone

Also the same thing with the higher gain captures of https://www.tone3000.com/tones/jhs-morning-glory-v4-75764

The Bandit Torn model here https://www.tone3000.com/tones/wizard-modern-classic-mcii-100w-e34l-multiload-community-pack-amp-head-75141 as the amp makes the issue extremely obvious

Expected behavior

Not sure how reasonable it is to say "don't have high frequency noise", but if there is a cause for the noise it would be good if it was avoidable, something like "Output volume too low, increase output volume" when training if that was the issue.

    N/A
  • Does the bug not happen under some other conditions? If you can find what one thing makes the difference between the bug appearing and not, this drastically improves the chances I can fix it.
Two models linked above where one has the issue and one does not
