what about umlaut characters

I would like to use a layer to change "o" to "ö" for example, but as "ö" is not defined in the keymap
I get the error: 'Unknown key name ö'

If I understand correctly, then the used method cannot do that without some secondary solution. For now I am using a compose key, but in the long run I will try some of the many other options.

actually actually, the keys logged are according to the US Layout, so on a German Keyboard pressing ü triggers leftbrace.

that's why it's good to log keys.
