Problem Statement
On my device, Circle to Search can be triggered by long-pressing the gesture/navigation bar.
However, I keep the gesture bar disabled because I prefer a clean, full-screen UI.
Once the gesture bar is disabled, there is no convenient way to access Circle to Search.
I would like to use Circle to Search without enabling the gesture bar on screen.
There is an existing app (MiCTS) that offers similar functionality, but it relies on root or does not work reliably on non-rooted devices.
Proposed Solution
Add Circle to Search as a native action in Button Remap / Essentials.
This action could be implemented using Accessibility by simulating a long press on the gesture/navigation bar area in the background (even when the gesture bar itself is disabled),
allowing users to trigger Circle to Search via:
- Hardware buttons (volume / power)
- Quick actions or control center shortcuts
This would allow access to Circle to Search without enabling the on-screen gesture bar and without requiring root.
Alternatives Considered
Root-based solutions or third-party apps exist, but they are not ideal for non-root users.
Priority
Medium - Would improve my experience
Contribution
Additional Context
This would improve one-handed usability and quick access, similar to flashlight or other remap actions.
