7zFM.exe opens 4.apfs file normally however not when using bit7z "Failed to detect the format of the file: No known signature found."

4.apfs file is located inside this archive:

Do you mean 4.hfs?
I opened the file in 7zFM.exe and it doesn't list 4.apfs at all:

Same result opening the DMG archive in bit7z:

however not when using bit7z "Failed to detect the format of the file: No known signature found."

I tried opening both "nuclear-v0.6.48-x64.dmg" and "4.hfs", and had no problems.
What code are you using to open the archive?

I'm really sorry, here's the correct file with apfs:

hfs works well indeed.

Yes, the reason for the error is quite simple: I completely overlooked the addition of the APFS format in 7-Zip.
I've already added the format to the develop (6f484ec) branch, and from a quick test with your file, it works.
I'll backport the change to the next v4.0.11 as soon as this latter is ready.
