The good news: I have discovered the File->Close menu option, which may make the map viewer rather happier than just successively opening.
The bad news: I have broken the File->Close menu option.
I opened 888 Frontline Onsal Hakair and panned around a little, then closed it, and it left residual content in the scene.
This seems reproducible, although it may be different content each time.
This may be related to an observation I made earlier today where a random too-late-to-be-the-primary Western Highlands map seemed to have some buried Allagan ruin elements deep under its center when the truth may be I had just been looking at a map which turned out to be an Allagan ruins area (one iirc labeled Ragnarok but numbered far before the EW Ragnarok debuted; most likely somewhere in what the west got as the Aetherochemical Research complex)
