Transcript Extractor is a Chrome extension designed to help students, educators, researchers, and content creators by extracting transcripts from Udemy courses and other educational platforms.
We take your privacy seriously. This document explains how your data is handled when using this extension.
Transcript Extractor does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII).
We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or contact details
- Financial or payment information
- Authentication details (passwords, tokens, etc.)
- Health, location, or browsing history
- All transcript extraction happens locally in your browser.
- No data is sent to external servers.
- Transcripts are only copied to your clipboard or saved locally if you choose to export them.
Transcript Extractor requests the following permissions strictly to provide its single purpose:
- activeTab → Allows the extension to access the currently open Udemy tab to extract transcripts.
- scripting → Injects scripts into Udemy course pages to fetch transcript data.
- storage → Saves user preferences (e.g., export format, dark mode) on your device only.
- clipboardWrite → Copies extracted transcripts to your clipboard for quick use.
- host permissions (
udemy.com/*) → Needed to extract transcripts from Udemy pages.
We do not request or use permissions for any unrelated purpose.
- We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties.
- We do not transfer any data outside of your browser.
