Bring back localstorage based sessions

I found this rather hard to accomplish within the current implementation so I temporarily cut it. The hard part seems to be when you've loaded a signed out public page from the server and your counterpart signs in on another tab... once you start browsing around everything breaks because all needed values need to be grabbed from localstorage and injected.
