"Draft (has published version)" even after unpublish #15138

Hey @PP-Tom, I do agree there could be improvements made here for readability and clarity, but the current behavior is working as intended. When you unpublish, a published version still exists in the version history, which is why it shows 'Draft (has published version)'. That said, the status display could definitely be clearer overall. I will convert this to a discussion since we can look at improving this for 4.0's UI refresh. We also actually have an on-going discussion here with Figma where we're looking for everyone's thoughts and opinions on how we can improve the admin UX for 4.0, feel free to either link this there or share any other thoughts you might have there as well! We really appreciate any feedback! |

Describe the Bug.
While this is made to be clearer; if you on the list view, check the box and unpublish the document, it will still say "Draft (has published version)" where it should set "Draft" to let the editor know that page is no longer publicly available.
I also think that the "Draft" & "Published" status is important information for the CMS and is often lost. I think there could be improvements here to make it stand out and be clearer:
For example, this allows you to quickly scan what pages are published and which ones are not.
