Equations spanning multiple lines

Should we clarify that equations spanning multiple lines due to page width in the original should be captured in one single <math> tag? I think that would make more sense than marking up separate equations.

Example:

It might also need clarifying to omit double = where relevant.

One downside of requiring this generally is that e.g. equation solving with comments might get illegible if displayed on one line.
