firefox: unstyled when xdg-desktop portal is active

Description

I noticed, that on my non-NixOS Home Manager setup, firefox and zen browsers are not getting properly styled when gnome-desktop-portal services are loaded. Either one provided by the Arch, or home-mannager setups. Issue exists also on fresh home directory.

I'm having the same issue on Hyprland:

  xdg.portal = {
    enable = true;
    extraPortals = with pkgs; [
      xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
    ];

      "org.freedesktop.impl.portal.FileChooser" = "gtk";
    };
  };

More precisely when adding the xdg-desktop-portal in order to add the FileChooser interface, the theme is no longer applied on Librewolf. I only tried while configuring this in HM.

I wonder if this could be related to settings for the GTK theme.

According to the documentation, a desktop portal implementation, if one is present, should take priority over the traditional configuration file: https://docs.gtk.org/gtk4/class.Settings.html

GNOME's implementation takes the value from /org/gnome/desktop/interface/gtk-theme in DConf, but others may read from elsewhere.

I'm unsure whether that DConf path is actually set by the current version of Stylix, but it's definitely added in #2107. You may want to try setting it manually and see if that fixes the issue.
