One of the great things that Microsoft Office has is that it is able to read out your documents to you, which is a great time saver, especially when you can speed it up.
Having a huge document and having to read through it can also be challenging if you need to multitask because you need to focus your attention on what you're reading. Instead, having a read to you allows you to multitask by allowing you to look at something else at the exact same time.

A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.
A simple read aloud button that could even just be the normal browser read aloud functionality would be great. I'm pretty sure the regular browser JavaScript usually has a read aloud API that you could just use.

I could try using read aloud by myself, but I'm not sure how it would interface with the document or if it would try reading this part of the editor too instead of just the page.

I may be lazy for trying to make this request and not just reading documents, but I've grown very accustomed to one dictation which is part of what I'm using to write this and to read aloud, which I use almost all the time.
Speaking of, if you've gotten this far and you just read what I just wrote, then dictation would also be a great button. Probably you could use a Javascript Web API that's built into the browser and get dictation from one button.
If you could, please consider adding both dictation and read aloud. And also if you could make it live dictation and read aloud, that would be very nice. Again, I'm pretty sure you could use a Javascript Web API that's built in the most browsers.
You could even highlight the current word that's being read aloud and make it live, typing what is being dictated.
