Shared instances simply do not work on linux #6961

Description

@ControllerEater

Please confirm the following.

  • I checked the existing issues for duplicate problems
  • I have tried resolving the issue using the support portal
  • I have ensured my Modrinth App installation is up to date

What version of the Modrinth App are you using?

Modrinth App 0.17.3 Linux Rolling Release

What operating systems are you seeing the problem on?

Linux

Describe the bug

On windows, using shared instances works as intended, where opening the link and clicking the green "accept invite" button works and allows you to download the instance.
Under Arch Linux on the latest version of the Modrinth app .deb binary and the latest version of arch and kde plasma (endeavour), shared instances do not register in the app, no error code shows, simply just doesn't work.

Steps to reproduce

  1. install, open, and sign into modrinth app
  2. attempt to install a shared instance
  3. nothing happens

Expected behavior

shared instance installs and works as intended

Additional context

DE: KDE (Wayland)
Distro: EndeavourOS (arch-based)
Steps can not be reproduced via the flatpak since it's on an older version, though it does get the share command (but throws an error)
using the .deb binary from the site, installed via pacman (not the one available in the arch extra repo, as that one is also out of date).
