Can LosslessCut be made to open symbolic link (symlinks) media file?

The fewer issues I have to read, the more new features I will have time to implement, so I ask that you please try these things first

• Try with the newest version from GitHub (also it might have already been fixed in latest nightly build)

• This problem happens with all kinds of files that I try. For problem only with a particular file or type, use this other form instead

Steps to reproduce

Version 3.67.2 (AppImage) on a Linux Debian 13 with KDE desktop.

When I drag and drop (or open via app menu) symbolic link that is linking to a video file (avi,mp4,wmv, etc.) LC does not open it saying it can only open regular file.

Expected behavior

Is there any acceptable way so LC can handle symbolic links (symlinks)?

Actual behavior

Not accepts symlinks ATM.

It should be theoretically possible, but there are many file operation code lines that have to be updated to support it. The effort is large and the benefit does imo not outweigh it, so i’m going to say that it’s not going to be supported any time soon.
