Users want to express lightweight reactions without changing the vote count that drives ranking, which makes quick easy feedback feel limited. This would be for situations where someone might upvote something or maybe put a comical emoji to keep it feeling light for a possibly long and drawn out meeting.

Add optional reactions or likes that operate independently of votes so they register sentiment without altering item prioritization.
