Will this be able to save everything recorded? Or only the sentry events?

I got a Model Y a few weeks ago, and I have noticed a sentry event is not always triggered when someone parks beside my car or walks by it. I had one car pull up extremely close to my car and it did not save this as a sentry event.
I have camera based detection enabled.

Will this smart project help me with this, and save all recordings, and just not sentry events?

I could not confirm this when reading the wiki.

It saves all recordings up to the size of your sd card.

Because when I read about sentry, I thought it only saved 1 hour which it replaced and wrote over.
Do you mean if I leave my car with sentry mode on, the car will record everything and save it to my SD card until it is full? And not only the events when sentry is triggered?
Is this the default behaviour of sentry even without this teslausb?

Thanks! And do I understand correctly that adding a larger drive or SSD to the Tesla (without this project) will not help me with keeping more of the videos when the car is parked (when a Sentry event is not triggered).

Also reading the hardware requirement I am having a couple of questions.

• Which device boots the quickest?
• Is it really necessary to hardwire power or does the BLE connection solve this by keeping the car alive anyway?
• I read that you get warnings that the USB device is too slow, is there any hardware that is quick enough?
• Which should I use for a legacy Model Y with HW4? Orange Pi Zero 3?

1. Boot up speed is not too important here. even the slowest pi zero, it will be up and running when you start moving the car. The device will start boot up when you unlock the car, by the time you settled in the car, buckled up seat belt and shift to D or R, it is up and running.
2. Not necessary to hardwire if you don't plan to back up to network device. It is recording as long as you see the red dot in the icon.
3. I tried with all raspberry pi zero, zero 2 W, pi 5, and Rock Pi 4 C+. They all works fine. If you don't want the slow USB warning, then go for Rock Pi.

I am looking at the Orange Pi Zero 2 W as the formfactor is small and it should produce less heat.
It also looks quicker than the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. Looks like someone made it work here: #923
Are more RAM necessary? It is available in 1GB, 1.5GB, 2GB and 4GB of RAM.
Also, I hope the Orange Pi Zero 2 W will not produce the USB Slow Error?

But if I use the BLE connection, will that keep the car alive until the archive/transfer is done?
