Hi, That's a nice bunch of software type words, most of which are used at various points in this project - an extension for Small Basic. No idea what you are on about, sorry.

The goal is to add these features to Small Basic via LitDev: a module system, classes and objects, properties and methods, optional inheritance (without requiring advanced features), exception handling, threads or tasks, networking, JSON, XML, compression, databases, and encryption.

Hi,

Small Basic is designed to a be a simple learning language. Most of the feature you list are language features (module system, classes and objects, optional inheritance (without requiring advanced features), exception handling, threads or tasks) that are not there deliberately by design. Changes to these would require a new SmallBasicCompiler.exe and change the whole nature of Small Basic and cannot be added with an extension.

Extensions like LitDev extension add additional methods, properties and events to the standard library (SmallBasicLibrary.dll). There are some methods that use networking, JSON, XML, compression, databases, and encryption present in LitDev extension.

The objective of Small Basic is to learn to program, then move to a more full featured language like C# or Python for example. The objective of extensions is to introduce more 'fun' methods within the 'simple' Small Basic programming language.

Additional extension methods can be added, but they are usually fairly specific and limited in scope (tasters of what could be done).

So, I’m going to adapt it for Small Basic—making it simpler and easier to programming. Don't add those functions; add these instead: Classes and Objects, Inheritance, and Exception Handling. This time, I’ve adapted it to keep things simple. Have they added a command to open and rotate an image yet? If not, add one; it will maintain Small Basic's simplicity while still allowing for a wide range of programs.

I described why extensions to Small Basic can't change the language features (Classes and Objects, Inheritance, and Exception Handling) so these won't be implemented.
