I have noticed that the new Mint-Y theme doesn't have the same colors between gtk-2 and gtk-3. Of course it is not possible to make them 1-1 exact match but the gtk-2 version is almost missing the entire change that happened to gtk-3 and 4 themes: The blue tint.
In this image you can see the gtk-2 app (the one on the left) does not have the same colors as the gtk-3 app (the one on the right).
