more of a question, how do i change the config so cava always starts with max bars?

Well that makes cava automatically start with enough bars to fill the screen, is that not what you meant by 'max bars'?

no i meant like the number o f bars, putting that in my config didnt do anything

OK that's what it does, so if that config option didn't work, then the config didn't work. How did you put it in your config? Please be specific and detailed in your response so I have enough information to work with.

I think maybe decreasing the bar width is what you are looking for.

If the config didn't do anything remove the ; that did it for me

so this is what i mean and editing the config in .config/cava isnt working, i know its not a file or place issue as other configurations work still and ive tried decreasing and upping th bars to no result

I think bar width is the setting you are looking for.
