Intermittent connection issue to K3s API Server (127.0.0.1:6443 refused)

Hello K3s Community,

I’m experiencing an intermittent issue with my K3s cluster where sometimes kubectl works normally, but at other times it fails with the following error:

The connection to the server 127.0.0.1:6443 was refused - did you specify the right host or port?

This happens randomly — sometimes the connection is successful, sometimes it is refused without any configuration changes.

kubectl version
Client Version: v1.30.5+k3s1
Server Version: v1.30.5+k3s1

1. v1.30.5 is quite old. You are overdue for an upgrade.
2. Your server is probably crashing and restarting. Have you looked at the logs to see why?
