Installation Script

Hello. nbgrader looks promising and I am trying to get it to work with JupyterHub, but so far I have not been able to get it running. I suspect its my lack of jupyter-hub expertise more than nbgrader knowledge (which is also lacking). Can we get a script that does a full installation of the minimal system with JupyterHub? I have tried and got to multiple users but its unclear to me how to install all the parts and have nbgrader find the right tools. Happy to share what I have tried, or better try someone elses script. Ideally just a single modern Ubuntu VM is ideal for me to start with with one instructor and 1 (or more) students. Appreciate the help.

ps. I would list all the issues, but feel that would distract from just getting a working script (but can if it helps)

installing JHub and nbgrader is quite complex in most production environments (university). To simplify the process in an academic context we have compiled the Ananke Jupyter Distribution, a Podman/Docker image with everything pre-installed and pre-configured. Even if you do not use Ananke directly (maybe because you do not want to use LTI for connecting to a learning management system), you find all the installation steps in the container definition files and in some scripts.

If you provide a list of concrete problems to solve, I'll try to give you pointers where to look in Ananke's scripts for solutions.
