Community-wg Budget?

From the notes of Feb meeting, does the community-wg have budget to accomplish its objectives?

we can request board depends on what we need funds for.

The Community WG does not currently have a budget per se, but if there are things we need to buy to achieve our goals then we can request them and if they're reasonable I think it's likely that they would be approved. Is there something in particular you're thinking about having the Community WG spend money on?

I don't imagine large budget items, but more wondered if we could propose or consider ideas that might require budget. Ideas like these.

• Support that we might offer to local meetups if needed for covering the expenses of monthly meetings.
• Gifts for Ambassadors. For example: a challenge coin.
• Google Ads spend.

This would come under the Foundation's conferences/community budget, we could definitely request help organizing that kind of thing 👍

Google Ads spend.

This would come under the Foundations marketing/content budget, and I'm sure they'd be happy to approve and administer a well-justified ads spend.

IMO this WG shouldn't need to worry about a budget - if something needs spending that would be a task for the GraphQL Foundation (and technically this WG lives under the TSC umbrella rather than the Foundation umbrella) but we can make those recommendations.

We might want a recurring budget to support the Ambassador Program. Yet to be determined, though.

Looks like we're covered here? The Ambassador Program will be funded by the foundation on a case by case basis (looking forward to see the hoodies by the way 😃 )
