As of today Fyne is taking 40 seconds to create a window

I didn't change any code, actually the executables I made 2 days ago are now taking a long time to load as well as the fyne demo app. Does that indicate that it's some weird glfw/graphics issue with my PC all of a sudden? Any idea how to troubleshoot such an issue?

How are you measuring that time? Is it from "./hello" to the window appearing or is it from "go run" (which includes compile time)?

likely either
a) You upgraded Go and/or the system or Fyne and all the caches were invalidated so it must compile a lot of code (a one-off slow), or
b) some update to the anti-virus is holding back the window from appearing whilst it does checks on the binary generated.

More details will help us to produce a more educated set of checks to explore.

Sorry, I didn't mean to indicate that it is solved. It still happens to me. Rebooting stops it from happening, but it will start happening again. It almost seems like it's happening after "X number of launches". I will also mention that I'm using https://github.com/air-verse/air to launch the app if perhaps that could have something to do with it. But since it's affecting other graphical applications (namely RoadCraft I've noticed so far) it almost feels like "after X number of launches, whatever fyne is doing to create windows hits a limit that causes it to take exactly 40 seconds from now on". I unfortunately don't have any more information to give you, but I'm willing to debug/work with you to figure out. I might try to run a test this week just using go run . instead of air to see if it still happens.

I just found this https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53017551/sfml-renderwindow-taking-a-long-time-to-open-a-window that looks suspicious. Also exactly 40 seconds, and I do have a Corsair keyboard. So weird that it never popped up until developing with fyne. I did just try closing iCUE but that didn't help. I will look more into this tomorrow.

EDIT: sorry for all the updates, but I want to document my findings. After reading that post and it mentioning dx input I tried opening the "Game Controllers" window, like the one from Windows that lists USB game controllers. And this app takes a long time to start up (more than 40 seconds) and then it keeps constantly freezing.

Omg it's my Corsair mouse. I unplugged and replugged in my mouse and the Game Controllers window stopped freezing, and my fyne app loads now. I'm sure the issue will keep coming back but at least we know it's probably not fyne's fault! Dang Corsair.....
