Firebase Analytics — Events & Custom Parameters Not Showing in Release Build (Flutter)

Firebase Analytics events and custom parameters work correctly in debug mode (visible in DebugView in real time) but do not appear in the Firebase Analytics dashboard when using a release build.

What Works

• All events appear correctly in Firebase DebugView when running debug build with -FIRAnalyticsDebugEnabled
• session_start, first_open, and all custom events fire as expected in debug
• No errors in console — analytics service logs success for every event

What Does Not Work

• Custom events do not appear in Analytics → Events dashboard in release build
• Custom parameters do not appear under event details
• User property set via setUserProperty() does not appear under Analytics → Custom Definitions
• Waited 48+ hours — still no data

Questions

• Do custom event parameters need to be registered manually in Firebase Console → Custom Definitions before they appear in the dashboard, even in release builds?
• Is there a known delay longer than 48 hours for first-time custom events to appear in a brand new Firebase project?
• Does minifyEnabled true with ProGuard affect Firebase Analytics event dispatching even with -keep class com.google.firebase.** rules in place?
• Is firebase_analytics: ^12.2.0 with firebase-bom: 32.6.0 a compatible combination, or does the Flutter package version need to align with the BOM version?
• For iOS release builds — is there any additional entitlement or capability required beyond GoogleService-Info.plist and IS_ANALYTICS_ENABLED: true for events to reach the dashboard?
• Should Firebase.initializeApp() be called with explicit FirebaseOptions in release mode, or is reading from config files sufficient?

Already Checked / Ruled Out

• FIRAnalyticsDebugEnabled flag removed from Xcode scheme for release
• IS_ANALYTICS_ENABLED is true in GoogleService-Info.plist
• google-services.json has correct package_name
• ProGuard rules include Firebase keep rules
• Waited 48 hours for data propagation
• Google Analytics linked and enabled in Firebase Console
• Custom Dimensions for user property not yet registered — could this block all event data from appearing?
