Ban users function not removing candidate profile from election page

I try to ban the user Dale Ervin

I go to Edit Election and type his name, click Okay

I close my browser completely, I restart the election page, but Dale Ervin is still displayed as a candidate

I'm pretty sure this function worked correctly in a previous version of the code, but I'm not sure when...
