SEO support

Today, the README.md calls out that Tableau does not support SEO.

I was looking around for any discussion on this feature—planned, contributions welcome, or not planned—and couldn't find anything, so I figured I'd start one here!

1. Is this something welcome in Tableau, or do we prefer authors to handle all it themselves?
   How much of SEO support could be handled in a plugin instead, either experimentally to prove the concept, or as a long-term solution? Are there reasons why it has to be integrated into the core, aside from desire for strong support as a core-team valued and maintained feature?
2. If welcome, what areas of SEO could/should be fully handled by Tableau? What areas should it accept user input to generate SEO tags? What areas are beyond scope?
3. Of the user configurable areas, what should those APIs look like?

Note that I am not experienced with SEO, which is exactly why I was looking for this feature, so I'm not the best to lead the discussion. Thought I'd start it, though!

In general, tableau can support things needed for SEO:

• page titles
• meta descriptions and tags
• OpenGraph meta tags for socials
• sitemap

you'd just be either building an extension for it or coding it into your layout.

I wonder how valuable or needed SEO is in the land of LLM-crawlers, I suspect that whole industry is getting weird, but the old standbys of providing detail in the XML is always available.

Hi, I'm mostly looking for a component that can be provided by Tableau that will reach into the users' config to fetch the appropriate information to populate the various opengraph tags and related. I have a couple of them on my personal site, but it would be great to have them provided for users by default.

I had previously looked into porting https://hex.pm/packages/phoenix_seo to not be phoenix dependent, but never got the time. But there is a liquid template in the jekyll codebase that has a lot of the tags and the information used to fill them that can also be used as a base.
