Whenever a deploy gets a 500, the process does not clean as expected

To repro:

• make a deployment that will fail with a 500. My case was the last few errors in https://github.com/eeditiones/jinks/actions/runs/25846665150/job/75944944243#step:13:35
• Wait for the command to complete

Expected: error exit code

Actual: OK exit code

I've even seen the whole process locking up, not responding to ctrl+c / cmd+c
