Steps to reproduce
From a fresh installation and clean workspace:
- add a project from a repository and change a file
- Right-click Team>Synchronize and switch to the "Team synchronizing" perspective
- Double-click the changed file so that a compare editor opens.
I tried
- Toggling "Swap left and right view" button in the compare editor -- whose default was recently changed in issue #3776
I expected: the synchronize view to change to reflect the new state :
- change the direction of the arrows on icons in the toolbar
- change the direction of the arrows on files in tree view
But got:
Nothing changed.
If I go back to the Java perspective and right-click Team>Synchronize another time, then the arrows on files in tree view are correct. I should perhaps open another issue on https://github.com/eclipse-egit/egit/issues
But the toolbar never changes leaving icons with opposite directions.
The same also happens with subversion.
Tested under this environment:
- OS & version: Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS
- Eclipse SDK
Version: 2026-09 (4.41)
Build id: I20260818-2300
