What is the status of the PhotoSwipe plugins?

@dimsemenov I think in the past you said that the nucleus of PhotoSwipe light-box code would be small, the extensions should be implemented in plugins.

The only PhotoSwipe plugin I know, is the Dynamic caption plugin, which is even not mentioned on the PhotoSwipe github page.

I think there were plugins planned for at least a slide-show and for videos.

What is the status of these plugins?
Is there already a beta version available?
Are there other plugins planned?
When can I expect a release of a new plugin?

At the moment I do not develop any new plugins. Plugins that I've made before:

I do not feel the demand is large enough for plugins like auto-slideshow, but I might make something in the future if nobody else will.

I wonder how many people will use the deep zoom plugin, because that requires special formatted photos I understand

I use the 2nd plugin and that works fine, thanks for that plugin!

I have once tested the 3th plugin, but I see it has still the status 'The plugin is under development ', so I prefer to use my current implementation.

I f you look in the issues, you will see that I am not the only guy who needs a good slide-show plugin. I use now my own clumsy implementation of a slide-show without transitions!

I tested your Auto hide UI plug-in in this test album. It works fine on a PC, but I see no effect on a mobile device, which is a pity, because these days most people use mobile devices.

Why don't implement you this Plugin for mobile devices? The UI should disappear after in this example 4 sec and show up again after a tap in the image.

I think too that the navigation buttons should also be hidden.

My test album uses also your fullscreen plugin, but this works on my iPad only with Safari, not with Firefox, Chrome or Edge.

Because on mobile devices there is already a gesture to hide the UI which is not the case in the desktop view. The idea was just to offer some way of hiding the UI in the desktop view as well. Also the trigger of "now start the timeout to hide the UI" is a mouse movement - but there is no mouse pointer on mobile devices which will move. However the UI should not just disappear without any interaction at all.

But you can give it try by removing the following lines from the plugin in the startHideTimer() function:

        if (this.hasTouch) {
            return;
        }

I think too that the navigation buttons should also be hidden.

This is the case - see my examples above. Maybe you have some custom styles in place which keep the buttons visible.

Yes, because on iPad and iPhone fullscreen support is very limited. If the browser does not support fullscreen mode, then my plugin will also not offer this. On iPhone fullscreen is not supported at all and on iPad only Safari supports that. This is a limitation forced by Apple.

Edit: and yes, I also added URL hash navigation for PhotoSwipe again in my WordPress plugin frontend code, so one can also link to a image directly like this: https://wordpress-demo.arnowelzel.de/lightbox-with-photoswipe-5/#gid=1&pid=3. If this will become another PhotoSwipe plugin in the future, is not clear yet, since the frontend code needs to deal with a number of events outside of PhotoSwipe to make this work.

About the code change: no, I won't do this since the way as it is, is exactly how I want it and that change would affect at least 20.000 active installations of my plugin. You can try it on your own to see if it works for you as intended including the side effects like the behaviour of "tap to hide/show UI" when the UI is already hidden due to a timeout.
