Bug description

The device randomly reboots to the crDroid boot logo while using applications that perform heavy app initialization or storage access.

Steps to reproduce

Examples of how this symptom occurs:

Pattern 1: Launch Amazon Shopping for the first time
Pattern 2: Read a book on Amazon Kindle for about 1 minute
Pattern 3: Play a video on Amazon Prime Video for about 1 minute

Actions after the symptom occurs:

Step 1: Device freezes while running an application.
Step 2: The crDroid boot logo is displayed.
Step 3: The device may not boot completely and may require a manual restart.

Solution

1. Uninstalling Amazon-related APKs
2. Turn off wifi or Mobile Data

Additional context

This issue appears to occur when launching Amazon-related apps.
The following applications worked without problems:

• Keepa
• YouTube / YT Music

Storage usage is normal: /data has approximately 96GB of free space.

Gapps is flashed (NikGapps-crdroid-official-arm64-16-20260223-signed).
Root status: Not rooted.
Magisk is not installed.

As requested, I have added the complete logcat file obtained when the problem was reproduced.

I've also attached:

• free output captured immediately after boot
• free output captured immediately before the crash
• dumpsys meminfo captured immediately before the crash

At the time of the crash, memory pressure had increased somewhat (swap usage increased from approximately 1 MB after boot to approximately 598 MB before the crash), but there was still around 2.4 GB of swap available.

Please let me know if there are any other logs or diagnostics that would be helpful. I can reproduce the issue consistently on my device and can collect additional information if needed.

I updated to the latest build(crDroidAndroid-16.0-20260607-oriole-v12.11).

After updating I have not experienced any unexpected reboots.

I will continue testing for a few more days and report back if the issue reappears.

Unfortunately, the issue still seems to occur on the latest build (crDroidAndroid-16.0-20260607-oriole-v12.11).

After updating, I tested Amazon Prime Video and Kindle again. The issue reappeared after downloading several books/videos and using Kindle/Prime Video.

New tomcat log again shows:

I had forgotten that I had found a similar issue in GrapheneOS and concluded that it was a bug originating from AOSP.

I apologize if my previous post offended anyone.

Furthermore, it seems that disabling network connectivity significantly reduces the likelihood of this issue occurring, which is caused by Kindle and Prime Video.
