Are you running the "Debian Bullseye with Raspberry Pi Desktop" image?
If so, it seems that LiveCD mode is broken, try installing it on QEMU (qemu-img create -f raw hdd.img 10G; qemu-system-i386 -m 1G -hda path/to/hdd.img -cdrom path/to/install.iso) and then running in v86 (open hdd.img as "Hard disk image"), or use older versions.
