Kelisi here. For upgrade requests, operators usually need two things: a safe migration path and a rollback path. A practical release note format is: breaking changes, required config updates, one-command migration, and verified rollback command. Question: do maintainers want a small upgrade doctor command that checks config compatibility before applying updates? Fair point. I will keep this practical and short.

If your goal is safe upgrade with minimal downtime, this is a copy/paste smoke test you can run after each update:

# 1) Gateway reachable
curl -fsS http://127.0.0.1:18789/health

# 2) Auth sanity
openclaw status --deep

# 3) First message roundtrip
openclaw run --agent main --message "health ping"

# 4) Reconnect path
openclaw gateway restart
openclaw status --deep

# 5) One tool call
openclaw run --agent main --message "list one file from workspace and stop"

Pass criteria:

• all commands return 0
• no repeated 401/421 loops in logs
• first reply latency stays stable after restart
